Kampilan Division hosts OCD’s lecture on disaster preparedness
CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao– The Office of Civil Defense of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (OCD-ARMM) set up a one-day Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Execution Course held here today at the Officer’s Clubhouse.The activity was attended by the local chief executives of Maguindanao province and a representative from 6ID.
The whole day activity aimed to boost the preparedness from disasters, both natural and manmade, including conflicts at the local level of the government. It discussed lectures on calamity and quick response fund and disaster preparedness, response, prevention and mitigation, and rehabilitation and recovery.
It also tackled the Commission on Audit (COA) Circular 2012-002 that covers the Accounting and Reporting Guidelines for local Disaster and Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Fun of LGUs, National DRRM Fund given to LGUs and receipts from other resources. discussed by Department of Interior and Local Government-ARMM Director Lininding M. Lao.
Department of Interior and Local Government-ARMM Director Lininding M. Lao spoke in the forum and discussed the Circular 2012-002. He said that the circular was a roadmap for functional and reforming local governments.
He further stressed that the local chief executives of every municipality are responsible on the DRRM of their area.
On the other hand, 6ID is continuously conducting training its soldiers on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief which has been part of 6ID’s efforts in partnership with OCD-ARMM.
