6FAB Support NDU’s Health Advocacy for the Indigenous Peoples in Maguindanao
Awang, DOS, Maguindanao - The 6th Field Artillery (Deadly Accurate) Battalion (6FAB), Army Artillery Regiment (AAR) joined the Notre Dame University Graduate School and the Local Government of Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS), Maguindanao in providing education and awareness to the Indigenous Peoples (Teduray Tribe) about Maternal, Neonate and Child Health and Nutrition, Family Planning and Responsible Parenthood last August 5, 2017 at the Labungan Elementary School of the aforementioned municipality.The lectures and demonstrations attended by 100 IP adults were facilitated by 15 students of the Master of Arts in Nursing with the supervision of Dr Theresa O Corcoro, the Dean of the Graduate School along with the members of the NDU Graduate School Council led by Mr Israel U Sinsuat,
On the other hand, about 130 IP children joined in the games and provided with food facilitated by 6FAB personnel led by Captain Arnel Andaya, the CMO Officer, along with some personnel from the 19th Infantry Battalion and the Philippine National Police of DOS.
The project was a continuing partnership of the Notre Dame University Graduate School through its Graduate School Council, the Local Government of Datu Odin Sinsuat and the 6th Field Artillery Battalion, Army Artillery Regiment, Philippine Army with the support of Junior Chamber International Duwaling.
