DILG: P7.6 M financial grants awarded to 118 rebel returnees in South Cotabato through E-CLIP program


A total of one hundred and eighteen (118) former rebels who surrendered in the provinces of Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani, South Cotabato were granted a total of P7.6 million worth of financial assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E- CLIP), according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Malacañang Confirms Signing of BOL by Pres. Duterte

Sultan Kudara, Maguindanao— Malacañang confirmed on Thursday (July 26) the signing of Bangsamoro Organic Law by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte after he and his officials issued conflicting statements about the matter. 

 "This is to announce that the President has just signed the BOL into law," presidential spokesman Harry Roque said in a text message,”, a Philstar report on July 26 said. 
Special Assistant to the President Christopher ‘Bong’ Go confirmed in a separate text message that the BOL has been signed.

Sison: NPA will be watching LGUs in local peace talks

LUCENA CITY – Exiled Communist Party of the Philippine (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison said the New People’s Army (NPA) rebels will seriously study the role and participation of local government officials in the so-called localized peace talks.

In an online interview, Sison said the NPA rebels will study and decide if the local officials in their respective territories “were only forced to support the local peace talks, only acting supportive, in cahoots with the military in conducting harassments against the people and organizing fake rebel returnees in exchange for cash and other rewards from the government”.

Local revolutionary formations spurn ‘localized peace talks’

Updated on July 19: Added statements by the NPA-Ilocos Cordillera, NPA-Southern Tagalog (with separate statements from NPA-Laguna, NPA-Batangas, and NPA-Palawan), NDFP-Mindoro, and by the NDFP-Central Visayas. 

More and more regional committees of the CPP, field commands of the NPA and local revolutionary formations have issued separate statements firmly rejecting and condemning the Duterte regime’s so-called “localized” peace talks. These declarations are clear indications that Duterte’s localized peace talks are set to fail.

Revolutionary forces across the country at various levels belie claims by Duterte officials that the rejection of the sham localized talks came only from peace negotiators of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) based in The Netherlands, and not from forces on the ground. These statements are virtual slaps on the face of Duterte and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao-The bill on the proposed Bangsamoro Region recently passed by the Bicameral Conference Committee will be signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte Monday morning (July 23) before his State of the Nation Address (SONA), Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque told reporters in Malacañang on Thursday.

 Roque hailed the bicameral conference committee for approving the reconciled version of the proposed Bangsamoro Organic Law after heated debates and debacles among its members.

MANILA — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) expressed its commitment to the peaceful resolution of conflict and attainment of a lasting peace and development in the Bangsamoro Region.

This was stressed by AFP chief-of-staff Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr. following a meeting with members of the Bangsamoro Transition Committee (BTC) headed by its chair, Commissioner Ghazali Jaafar, at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City Thursday afternoon.

PRRD to issue EO for ‘localized’ peace talks with NPA

MANILA – President Rodrigo Dutere will issue an executive order for “localized” peace talks with the New People’s Army (NPA) if the peace talks between national government and the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) will not push through, Malacañang said on Thursday.

“So there will be an executive order that will spell out the guidelines that were agreed upon yesterday (Wednesday),” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during regular Palace press briefing.

CPP rejects Duterte ‘localized peace talks’

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) on Friday rejected the Duterte regime’s so-called “localized peace talks” calling it “pretend talks” where Duterte will “pretend to want peace while actually waging total war against the people.”

Malacañang yesterday announced it will issue an executive order soon that would pursue “localized peace talks” in lieu of the stalled formal negotiations between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).
