Imee calls for Christmas truce between AFP, NPA


MANILA – Senator Imee Marcos on Friday called on the Communist Party of the Philippines
- New People's Army - National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines to implement a truce for a peaceful celebration of the Christmas season.

Marcos, however, condemned the killing of two soldiers who were part of response teams assisting earthquake victims in Abra province on Thursday morning.

"The enemies of (the) government are showing no conscience, no mercy, no heart, no humanity in carrying out these dastardly acts in calamitous circumstances," she said in a statement.

Gov’t troops’ clashes with NPA rebels send hundreds fleeing for safety in Negros city

BACOLOD CITY – At least 700 individuals belonging to more than 100 families were displaced following two clashes involving the government troops and a band of suspected New People’s Army fighters in Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, Oct. 6.

2.4K NPA human rights violations logged from 1968 to 2009: AFP


MANILA – The Armed Forces of the Philippines Center for Law of Armed Conflict (AFPCLOAC)
said human rights (HR) violations committed by the New People's Army (NPA) from 1968 to 2009 have totaled 2,443.

The AFPCLOAC headed by Brig. Gen. Joel Alejandro Nacnac submitted these records on Thursday to the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) chair Richard Palpal-Latoc, detailing these abuses committed by the insurgents.

Aside from this, Nacnac also resubmitted to HR and international humanitarian law (IHL) violations of the insurgents from 2010 to the first semester of 2022.
