IPs most vulnerable to CTGs recruitment: ex-NPA cadre

MANILA – The indigenous peoples (IP) communities have been a haven for the communist terrorist groups (CTGs) to recruit new members of the armed revolution, a former cadre of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) revealed on Thursday.

Noel Legaspi, alias "Ka Efren", said the CTGs are primarily targeting the recruitment of IPs, as they are the most vulnerable sector for deceptions, radicalization, and exploitation.

These IPs communities, he added, are the most isolated, discriminated, and neglected areas in the country that can be easily infiltrated by the CTGs.

The CTGs are also targeting the very low literacy level of the IPs, he said, to impart the wrong ideologies.

The Communist Party of the Philippines denounced today the treacherous and brutal kidnapping of the 4-year old child of political prisoner Emilia Marquez last May 12. The child, MJ, was forcibly taken from his guardians in their home in Barangay Pitogo, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro by operatives of the 203rd Brigade.

Cotabato City (May 24, 2021)- As specified in the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), the Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT) has been tasked with regularly monitoring the implementation of the peace agreements signed between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). We have closely followed the ongoing deliberations in the Philippine Congress on the extension of the transition period of the BARMM by seeking to amend the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

Assassination try vs. NTF-ELCAC officials foiled

MANILA – Elite government forces thwarted yet another plot by local communist terrorists to assassinate government officials in the security sector, including “talking heads” of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

This was announced Friday by National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. following a shootout in Sta. Rosa City in Laguna that led to the death of three members of the New People’s Army (NPA) hit squad tasked to undertake the mission.

“One of their missions is to hit NTF-ELCAC talking heads. However, they were pre-empted. Our gratitude to our partners in NTF-ELCAC, including members of the armed forces and the police,” said Esperon, the Vice Chairman of the anti-communist insurgency Task Force.

CPP says anti-terror council reso is proof terror law is being ‘weaponized’


MANILA, Philippines — The Anti-Terrorism Council resolution which branded as “terrorists” the 19 alleged leaders of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) is proof that the Anti-Terrorism Law is being used as an “oppressive weapon,” said the CPP on Thursday.

The Supreme Court is currently hearing the numerous petitions questioning the constitutionality of Republic Act No. 11479, known as the Anti Terrorism Act of 2020, which shall be administered by the ATC, the body tasked to draft the guidelines and formulate measures and programs to suppress terrorism in the country.

Denounce and reject ATC vilification of revolutionaries as “terrorists”


The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) denounces and rejects the “designation” by the “Anti-Terrorist Council” (ATC) of 19 supposed “leaders” of the CPP as “terrorists.” This is clearly an act in accordance with the diktat of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and Duterte himself.
