Joint AFP-PNP operations: Two NPA arrested, Four AK-47 seized in South Cotabato
NSFA, Panacan, Davao City-
Government forces apprehended two NPA members on board red Mitsubishi
Lancer with plate number PGF 172 armed with four AK47 rifles during a
joint Army-PNP checkpoint in Brgy. Centrala, Surallah, South Cotabato,
Sunday afternoon. The successful apprehension was a result of the
recently forged joint AFP-PNP directives against the NPA.
Four AK 47 rifles with 15 long magazines
loaded with ammunitions were recovered from Ariel Ariano of Barangay
San Isidro, Koronadal City and Alexander Puertogalera from Tulunan,
North Cotabato. They were immediately brought T’boli Municipal Police
Station for appropriate filing of charges.
Meanwhile, EASTMINCOM Commander Lt. Gen.
Ricardo Rainier G. Cruz III commended the joint Army-PNP elements
involved in the apprehension “This is just the beginning, our
collaboration will further be expanded to include LGUs and other
agencies” Lt. Gen. Cruz said.
The AK-47 is the standard weapon used by the terrorist organizations around the world.
