Bangsamoro Youth, Community Leaders hold consultative meeting in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY (December 9. 2020)- The Bangsamoro Youth and Community leaders from different Barangays in Zamboanga City held their first consultative meeting at Malaysian Food Resto at Tetuan, Tuesday December 8.    
 
Officers from Federation of Bangsamoro Community Outside of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BCOBAR Fed) under Banguingi Chapter in Zamboanga City organized the half-day activity objectively to hasten their support and sustain the gains of peace agreement embark by Philippines Government (GPH), Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the BARMM.

Tirso S. Tahir, Officer from Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI), also Political Officer in BTA-BARMM, and BCOBAR Federation Regional Coordinator for Zamboanga Peninsula gave updates on BARMM and enlightened the participants on other related issues. 

“Peace and Development is everyone’s concern, we have a shared responsibility to exert more efforts in sustaining the gains of peace agreement, and be responsive in peace-building activities through providing right information to our fellow Bangsamoro, and enhance their civil and political rights as an epitome of participation in our democratic society, Tahir said.       

Among the issues discussed and consensus reached during the meeting is to join the effort being undertaken by the different Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in their call and appeal for the extension of Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) until 2025 considering the rationale and unfinished implementation of the peace agreement since the three-years period is too short to implement the normalization aspect of the BOL. 

Bangsamoro Youth and Bangsamoro Community Leaders in the area expressed their supportive to the efforts of BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim for “Moral Governance” in BARMM for doable transformation into a productive, develop, and self-sustain region.
