Army Chief urges CMO to step up efforts in fast-phased battle of information
FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido highlighted the importance of Civil-Military Operations (CMO) in dominating the fast-changing security and information environment as he graced the Civil-Military Operations Regiment (CMOR) Sustainment Day at Fort Bonfiacio, Taguig City on July 29, 2025.
The Army Chief, in his keynote remarks before the regiment’s officers and enlisted personnel, urged the CMO Operators to proactively address the imminent threats in the information domain to effectively shape the information environment.
CMOR’s Sustainment Day exhibited the CMO Regiment's Sustainment Battalion's capabilities in advancing the unit’s mission to support the Philippine Army's Land Defense Concept. It was emphasized that in order to cope up with the volatile environment, the focus on Sustainment, Training, Research and Development must be intensified to ensure responsiveness and relevance to the ongoing information warfare.
The Philippine Army supports the AFP's Civil-Military Operations transformation of its personnel's mindset, doctrine, and capabilities as it evolves as a strategic enabler of our national defense. Thus, it is projected that CMO will become a primary AFP Occupational Specialty in the future.
