The BDA SouthMin staff detailed the projects under the Cycles 1 and 2 of Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction and Development Program (MTFRDP) Partnership Agreement IV implemented from 2012 to 2015 and the Bangsamoro Advance and PPA Solidarity projects that have been delivered from 2015 to 2016.
In PPA IV, nine barangays of Sarangani received various development projects such as water system, post-harvest facilities, fishing implements, and trading centers.
In the Bangsamoro Advance and PPA Solidarity, livelihood projects like water system and rental facilities and services have been provided by the program.
The BDA staff also related the Qurban meat distributed in Sarangani every culmination of Hajj season in the past couple of years.
Nawa said the BDA had facilitated the capacity-building trainings of the People’s Organizations which were trained in project preparation, implementation and management.
Hadjinor pointed out that BDA, despite being a Moro agency, is inclusive in helping communities citing that three are three IP-dominated barangays namely Ticulab, Amsipit and Libi were given projects.
The BDA staff even faced difficulty in introducing the project to IP communities due to distrust towards the Moro staff by the non-Muslim beneficiaries.
“But through community consultations and Values Transformation Training, which is the flagship program of the BDA, the non-Muslim beneficiaries understood our objectives and desire for inclusive development where community members take part in handling projects,” Nawa related.
Kalinaw Sarangani Project Manager Jennifer Kamid thanked BDA for continuing its support to the province particularly in the conflict affected communities.
“The provincial government will count the huge contribution of BDA for the overall development of Sarangani,” she said.
BDA is the development arm of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) which spearheads the development of conflict affected areas of Mindanao.
The various projects and programs of BDA have been supported by various international development partners such us European Union, AusAID, JICA and World Bank.
Line agencies and local government units are also active development partners of BDA providing their technical and
monetary counterparts.

The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA)-Southern Mindanao (SouthMin) Regional Management Office presented its accomplishments in terms of development interventions in the province of Sarangani to Sarangani provincial government and the international and local monitoring teams on Wednesday (Dec 27) held at the Community Learning Center of Barangay Taluya in Glan, Sarangani province.In the year-end evaluation hosted by Kalinaw Sarangani Project which is under the Sulong Sarangani Program of the Office of the Governor, BDA Regional Manager Alimudin Hadjinor and Tommy Nawa, Project Operation Officer, related the agency’s various community development projects BDA has delivered since 2012 up to present benefitting the target communities.
