No single party, religion or individual could claim credit to the 1986 Edsa People Power Revolution as it belongs to the Filipino people, President Rodrigo Duterte said on Friday.

“It was a movement of, by, and for the Filipino people brought about by their profound love of country,” Duterte said in his message during the 31st Edsa revolution commemoration at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City read by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

On behalf of the people’s democratic government, the National Democratic Front in Mindanao shall release the six (6) prisoners of war (POW) who were arrested earlier this year and are currently in the custody of the New People’s Army (NPA) in 4 separate regions in the island.

MILF welcomes plan to create NTJRCB

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front  (MILF) expressed its appreciation over the plan to create the National Transitional Justice and Reconciliation Commission on the Bangsamoro (NTJRCB).

During the public of launch of reports on February 22 at the MILF’s Camp Darapanan in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, MILF Peace Implementing Panel Chairman Mohagher Iqbal said that they “truly appreciate and welcome” the statement of GPH Peace Implementing Panel Chairwoman Irene Santiago that the government of President Duterte will soon organize the NTJRCB.

Santiago, who was also present during the event, made the announcement earlier on Monday in Makati City and reiterated the same in the presence of MILF officials led by its Chairman Alhaj Murad Ebrahim.

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Feb. 13 (PIA) – Speaking before a crowd of devastated but hopeful earthquake victims during his personal visit in this city on Sunday, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (PRRD) disclosed that the national government has favorably allocated around P2 billion for the rehabilitation of Surigao del Norte province, which was hit by the 6.7-magnitude earthquake on Friday evening, Feb. 10.

CLIP Benefits 10 Former Rebels in Ilocos Sur

FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – Ten (10) former rebels were awarded the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) benefits at the Ilocos Sur Provincial Capitol in Vigan City on February 8, 2017.

Through the efforts of the Provincial Government and agencies of Ilocos Sur headed by Governor Ryan V. Singson together with Department of the Interior and Local Government of Ilocos Sur and Provincial Social Welfare Office in partnership with the 81st Infantry (Spartan) Battalion led by Lieutenant Colonel Eugenio Julio C Osias IV, the CLIP financial aid amounting to a total of Php 807,000.00 were availed by ten former rebels.

Statement
February 12, 2017

The Regional Command of the New People’s Army in North Eastern Mindanao Region (ROC-NPA-NEMR) declares a unilateral ceasefire in Surigao del Norte and the municipalities of Cabadbaran, Tubay, Jabonga and Santiago in Agusan del Norte. This temporary ceasefire in areas covered by NPA Front 16, which started last February 11, 2017 and will end at 11:55 in the evening of February 20, 2017, is being declared because of the intensity 6.7 earthquake on the night of February 10, 2017.

CGMTY, MAWAB, COMPOSTELA VALLEY PROVINCE – Threats, intimidation and extortion by the NPA forced several residents of Barangays Lambog and Rizal of Manay, Davao Oriental to evacuate.

Officials of the two barangays reported this to the Manay Municipal Police Station (MPS) as reflected in the police blotter and then brought the same complain to the Municipal and Provincial Local Government Units (LGU).

The NDFP Negotiating Panel wishes to restate that the termination of the unilateral interim ceasefire of the CPP and NPA shall take effect at 11:59 pm on 10 February 2017 after the ten-day period from the date that it was publicly announced and duly transmitted to the GRP Panel.

On the recent skirmishes, the NPA has been on active defense mode since the 21 January incident in Makilala, North Cotabato, when one of its encampments was attacked by the AFP and PNP. Since then, however, the AFP, PNP and paramilitary forces have become more aggressive and bold in encroaching on communities and sowing fear among the people. UNYPAD holds Dialogue Session with Children of Moro Rebels

The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD)-Western Mindanao Region brought together children of Moro Rebels belonging to the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in a two-day dialogue on how to take part in the ongoing peace deal between the government of the Philippines (GPH) and the MILF @ Cecille Pension House, Barangay Tumaga Porcentro, Zamboanga City on January 27-29, 2017.
