BARMM joins Labor Day celebration
The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) participated in the celebration of Labor Day with a parade of its officials and employees held inside the BARMM Compound in Cotabato City Wednesday, May 1.
The theme of this year’s celebration in the region is, "Uniting Bangsamoro Workers for Social and Economic Advancement."
In the message of Chief Minister Al Haj Murad Ebrahim that was read for him by Assistant Executive Secretary Abdullah Cusain during the program held shortly after the parade, he thanked the Bangsamoro workers who contributed to making the BARMM as one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
The Chief Minister said in the same message that "the soaring Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of our region is a testament to your work ethics. We wouldn't have attained this if not for the skills and attitude of the Bangsamoro workforce."
According to the data released recently by the Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA), by posting a 7.2 percent growth rate in its Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), the Bangsamoro region ranked fifth among the 17 regions in the Philippines in terms of the rate of regional economic growth in 2018.
