Kabacan, North Cotabato (July 17, 2021)- In a peace forum organized and attended by members of the political committee of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) held at Magatos, Kabacan, Cotabato on July 17, the Bangsamoro people outside the core territory of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Regioln in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), specifically North Cotabato, have convened to express their concerns after the signing of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), and establishment of the BARMM. Participants were Municipal chairmen of the Political and Information Committees , BIAF, SWC and other line agencies of the MILF.

 

For the BARMM government, the administrator of the Special Geographic Area Mohammad Killie Antao along with the Kabacan cluster coordinator Jabib Guiabar and Staff of Member of the Parliament Mohagher Iqbal headed by the Wahab Guialal were in attendance.

Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao— The children of around 7,000 decommissioned Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) combatants and members of their family, as well as  selected beneficiaries from six government-acknowledged MILF camps will largely benefit from a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed here today between the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE)  of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), said a report posted online by OPAPP on Wednesday, October 30.

COTABATO CITY (MindaNews/26 October) — Sulu st district Representative Tupay Loong and Muntinlupa Rep. Rodolfo Biazon sat beside each other at the end of the four-hour public hearing on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) in Upi, Maguindanao on October 22, both of them former warriors who faced each other in battle in Panamao, Sulu 42 years ago: Loong with the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and Biazon with the Philippine Marines.

Both said they are tired of war and hope the BBL will be “the final cure.”

GPH, MILF gear up for historic signing of final peace deal

Manila – The Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) have firmed up preparations for the historic signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) on March 27 at the Malacañan Palace.

GPH chief negotiator Miriam Coronel-Ferrer said that the CAB signing seals the partnership for peace and prosperity between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. “This partnership is based on our shared aspiration to heal the wounds of conflict, enable meaningful autonomy for the Bangsamoro, and nurture peace and development in Muslim Mindanao."

GPH, MILF stress need for just, acceptable solutions to the Bangsamoro problem

Kuala Lumpur – Sharing the same resolve to complete the annex on power sharing in this round of talks, the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) stressed the need to ensure just and acceptable solutions to address the decades-old conflict in Mindanao.

During the parties’ opening ceremonies for the 41st formal exploratory talks in this Malaysian capital, GPH peace panel chair Miriam Coronel-Ferrer reiterated the importance of due diligence in coming up with viable solutions to the Bangsamoro problem.
