75th Battle of Yuldong Anniversary: Philippine Army commemorates Filipino veterans' heroism and sacrifice

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City - The Philippine Army commemorated the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Yuldong in a wreath-laying ceremony at the PEFTOK Korean War Memorial Pylon, Libingan ng mga Bayani, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on April 23, 2026.

Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete accompanied Department of National Defense Sec. Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. and Republic of Korea Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang-hwa during the wreath-laying ceremony.

The ceremony relives the heroism of the 10th, 20th, 19th, 14th, and 2nd Battalion Combat Teams along with the Philippine Expeditionary Force to Korea (PEFTOK) who repelled waves of Chinese communists and North Korean soldiers during the Korean War.

The Philippine Army honors the bravery and sacrifice of Filipino veterans who fought during the Korean War, particularly those who distinguished themselves in the historic Battle of Yuldong.
