Army sends personnel, trucks for relief operations

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army through the Civil-Military Operations Regiment and Army Support Command, sent soldiers and 12 trucks to assist in the relief operations in Batangas, Cavite, and Tagaytay evacuation centers.

Relief items were picked up from the Solaire Resort and Casino warehouse since Saturday, January 19. Around P25,000,000 worth of items composed of pails filled with assorted goods, water and portable gas stoves will be given to more or less 11,000 families in the said areas. 


The Army also partnered with other government frontline services in the ongoing transport of items to the evacuation centers in Batangas City including Balayan (Agoncillo), Calaca, San Luis, San Pascual, Bauan, Mataas na Kahoy, Fernando Air Base, Malvar, Tanauan, and Sto. Tomas; in Cavite City including Dasmariñas and Alfonso; and in Tagaytay City.

“We will continue the relief operations for as long as needed. As part of our duty to serve, our soldiers as well our capabilities are ready to support in immediately extending aid to the affected families,” said Army Spokesperson Lt. Col. Ramon P. Zagala.#
