Assistant Executive Secretary Abdullah Cusain of the BARMM said a memorandum creating the task force will be released this week by the Office of the Executive Secretary to all the ministries and offices of the BARMM.
“For the Inter-Agency Task Force to mobilize, all ministries and offices shall have representation,” Cusain said.
The BARMM remains free from the COVID-19 but Cusain said there is a need to consider President Duterte’s public health emergency declaration on the commemoration of the BARMM’s first year anniversary on March 29.
President Duterte signed Proclamation No. 922 on Sunday, March 8, declaring a state of public emergency throughout the Philippines. That was after health officials recorded additional cases of the COVID-19 including the first case of local transmission in the country.
Through the said Proclamation, Duterte enjoined all government agencies and local government units “to render full assistance and cooperation and mobilize the necessary resources to undertake critical, urgent and appropriate response and measures in a timely manner to eliminate and control the Covid-19 threat.”
Cusain said “we have to push through (with the commemoration} but there might be some adjustments particularly on some events. Maybe we need to control the flock of the crowd,” Cusain said.
