CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday rendered traditional gun salute in military camps to honor the late former President and Commander-in-Chief, Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III.
“We give our Former President and Commander-in-Chief our snappiest salute and our pledge to continue to perform our mandate. The banner of his legacy will continue to fly on the hallowed grounds of our camps anywhere in the country,” AFP Chief of Staff General Cirilito Sobejana said in a statement.
MANILA – Families must be protected against radicalization by communist terrorist groups (CTGs) at all costs as they play a major role in achieving just and lasting peace.
Presidential Human Rights Committee Secretariat Executive Director, Undersecretary Severo Catura, made the remark during the "Tagged: Debunking Lies by Telling the Truth" virtual presser on Monday.
"Peace advocates, which include we, in government, recognize that the Filipino family is a key player in the quest for just and lasting peace. The Filipino families of indigenous cultural communities (are) a significant stakeholder in peace advocacy. I ask our friends in the media to join us in preserving and protecting our families by helping unmask and report the glaring threats to the safety and security of our families, especially our IP (Indigenous Peoples) families," he said.

We denounce the unabated attacks against civilians perpetrated by military and police forces in the course of the Duterte regime’s counterinsurgency operations. At least seven civilians have been killed in these attacks over the past three weeks.
MANILA – The New People’s Army (NPA) continues to use “child warriors” and anti-personnel mines (APM) -- two items that are strictly prohibited under International Humanitarian Law (IHL) -- in its deadly pursuit of establishing a communist government in the Philippines.
This was recently discovered after two separate clashes in Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur, where one minor was captured and three NPA combatants were killed. Also, a cache of firearms and explosives as well as other items used for bomb-making were recovered from the encounter sites.
The first encounter happened in Barangay Mabuhay, Prosperidad town on June 14 when elements of the 3rd Special Forces Battalion of the 401st Infantry Brigade, while conducting combat operations, chanced upon a group of around 10 communist terrorists.

The Party welcomes the move seeking the International Criminal Court (ICC) permission to start a full-blown investigation into the tens of thousands of police killings perpetrated under the Duterte regime’s drug war.
The CPP supports the clamor for justice of the victims of the police drug killings, a sham campaign to dissemble Duterte’s war to control the drug trafficking syndicate in the Philippines.
MANILA – The Absalon family is not accepting any apology or indemnification from the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) over its unprovoked anti-personnel mine (APM) attack that killed two of their members and injured another in Masbate City on June 6, a military official said on Thursday.
"Yan namang paumanhin na yan ay tinanggihan ng pamilyang Absalon, ang sinasabi nila, hindi dapat magtatapos sa paghingi lamang ng sorry, at hindi dapat, kung magbibigay man sila ng sinasabi nilang indemnification ay hindi nila tatangapin, ng pamilyang Absalon ang anumang tulong na mangagaling dito sa kagawad ng mga teroristang grupong ito (That apology was rejected by the Absalon family. What they said was that saying sorry will not end the liability of the NPA perpetrators, and even if they will give indemnification, the Absalon family will not accept it or any help from this terrorist group)," Marine Maj. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesperson said in a Laging Handa briefing.
