CA OKs nomination, promotion of 32 AFP officer

MANILA – The Commission on Appointments (CA) has confirmed the ad interim

appointments and gave its consent to the promotion of 32 generals, senior and reservist officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during a hearing at the Senate, Pasay City on Wednesday.

“Your promotion is a manifestation of your hard work and dedication as military officers. May you always be reminded of our crucial responsibility to protect the people and the state,” said AFP chief, Lt. Gen. Jose Faustino in a statement Thursday.

Confirmed were the ad interim appointments of Rear Admiral Danilo G. Fuentes, Maj. Gen. Ariel Francisco A. Felicidario III, Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Razalan, Brig. Gen. Julius A. Tomines and Commodore John R. Garaña.

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The country’s outstanding Reservists and Reserve Units were recognized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during the closing ceremony of the 42nd National Reservist Week (NRW) on Friday, September 17.

“The services of our reservists significantly augment the efforts of our regular force in protecting the interest and well-being of our people. The AFP leadership recognizes their active support especially in nation-building and humanitarian assistance and disaster response,” Lieutenant General Jose C Faustino Jr, AFP Chief of Staff said.

Release NDFP peace consultant Ka Loida Magpatoc! 

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) demands the immediate release of Ka Loida Magpatoc, peace consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) in negotiations with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP).

Ka Loida was arrested last Wednesday in Barangay Paitan, Quezon, Bukidnon by a combined military and police force in violation of the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG), signed by the GRP and NDFP in 1995, which guarantees the rights of peace negotiators, consultants and personnel of either side against reprisals.

COTABATO CITY – The House of Representatives approved on second reading Monday the bill seeking to reset the first regular elections of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) from 2022 to 2025, a lawmaker from Maguindanao announced here Tuesday.

MANILA – Tired and angered by the atrocities of communist terrorist groups, especially against the most vulnerable members of the society, several youth groups came together to help the government end insurgency.

Philippine Army hosts observance of National Heroes Day

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army hosted the observance of National Heroes Day at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Libingan ng Mga Bayani today, August 30, 2021.

 

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Guest of Honor and Speaker, delivered his message through video. “With pride and joy, we honor the noble sacrifices of our ancestors who fought to liberate our country and establish the thriving democracy that we have today. As we overcome the COVID19 pandemic, let us honor our modern-day heroes, our medical front liners, and our essential workers who sacrificed [their] lives, comfort, and security to secure our fellow Filipinos,” he said.

NTF-ELCAC orchestrates legal offensive against Ka Joma, et al.

 

A series of filing of trumped-up charges against Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Founding Chairman and National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) Chief Political Consultant Jose Maria Sison has been mounted and directed by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) the past weeks. Other peasant and social activists have also been maliciously implicated in these cases.
