Muslim religious council formed in Gensan

A council of Ulama (Muslim religious scholars) was formed that will give opinion or Islamic point of view on issues or concerns coming from the members of the Muslim ummah in the localities on July 9, 2019 in General Santos City

This development happened during the “Forum on Traditional Justice System” organized by the City Mayor’s Office- Indigenous Cultural Communities Affairs Division, a unit that implements programs for the Muslim and Indigenous Peoples in the city.

Murad accepts Piñol as BARRM ‘point man’: PRRD

MANILA – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) interim Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim has accepted the proposal to designate Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol as the “point man” to develop Mindanao.

President Rodrigo Duterte bared this a day after meeting Murad in Malacañang on Wednesday (July 10).

“Yeah,” Duterte told reporters in a chance interview when asked if Murad accepted Duterte’s proposal to make Piñol the BARMM point person.

“Well, we are trying to fine-tune. And that is why the truth of the matter is I really transferred Piñol to assist them,” he added.

Army Chief pays visit to Russian Ground Forces

 FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto pays an official visit to the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation on July 8 at Moscow, Russia.

Upon the invitation of Russian Ground Forces Army Gen. Oleg Salyukov, a meeting was conducted to discuss issues of bilateral military cooperation, training of Filipino servicemen in Russian military schools and participation of Philippine teams in the International Army Games.

Reaction to the UNHRC resolution to investigate Duterte killings

1. The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) welcomes the resolution of the UN Human Rights Commission seeking a comprehensive report on the widespread killings carried out both by police and state-endorsed death squads in the course of the Duterte government’s so-called drug war.

The tactic of mass killings against drug suspects and its terror effect is now being widely used against the patriotic and democratic forces and against all forms of opposition to stifle dissent and put down the people’s resistance and stifle their demand for justice.

2. The statement of the PNP Chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde that the CPP is behind the UNHRC resolution is extremely laughable and shows the extent to which Duterte’s minions would invent scenarios and act stupid in their desperation to keep the truth from coming out. In their anti-communist delusion, Duterte’s minions have resorted to red-tagging even the UNHRC itself.
