8ID Spearheads Food Service Management Seminar
CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, CATBALOGAN CITY – The 8th Infantry
Division, Philippine Army spearheaded a Food Service Management
Seminar at its Headquarters in Barangay Maulong, Catbalogan City from
May 11-15, 2015.
The Food Service Management Seminar was participated by one military officer, 50 military personnel, and nine civilians/ military dependents. In addition, the participants also underwent orientations and trainings on wine mixing, bartending, and body massaging under the tutelage of Dr. Regino G. Palermo, CEO and President of Palermo Hotel Institute of Tourism and Hospitality at Baybay, Leyte.
With the just concluded seminar, it is expected that the participants will improve their services to be rendered during Command social activities, their homes, and they can even start businesses in line with their newly-gained skills.
The training is one of the activities of the Command in honing soldiers to become more competent, not only in combat operation, but also in civilian oriented competencies such as food service management, wine-mixing, bartending and body massaging.
Meanwhile, another training for soldiers on Livestock Management on Swine and Goat raising is slated to conducted from May 21-22, 2015.
Maj. Gen. Jet B. Velarmino AFP, Commander 8ID lauded the conduct of the Food Service Management Seminar cross trained with Wine-Mixing, Bartending and Massaging. He said that the skills gained by the participants will surely enhance their managerial skills either in serving better the troops under 8ID, serving their families, or in business ventures.
