FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The
Philippine Army (PA) welcomes the visit of the Indonesian Army (IA) as
part of the two country’s efforts to strengthen its military ties here
today, October 28.
During the courtesy call, Army Vice
Commander Maj. Gen. Reynaldo M. Aquino and Deputy Assistant Chief of
Staff for Security of the Tentra National Indonesia, Angkatan Darat (TNI
AD) Brig. Gen. Djaka Budi Utama discussed both armies’ future
cooperation in order to prepare its respective forces against evolving
threats in their respective regions.
Moreover, as the PA expressed its
interest in acquiring military supplies from the IA, it also offered to
share its logistics best practices learned during the Battle of Marawi
and other subject matter exchanges. On the other hand, the IA is looking
forward to PA’s participation in the upcoming ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet
2019 to be held in their country.
“Strengthening our relationship with
other military counterparts is essential in learning new capabilities
that will capacitate our troops in addressing internal and external
threats,” said Army Spokesperson Lt. Col. Ramon P. Zagala.#
