FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City - The Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido set forth his comprehensive command guidance emphasizing sustained modernization and transformation in the Philippine Army-wide Command Conference in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on January 7, 2025.
The first command conference for the year reviewed and evaluated the role of the Philippine Army in light of the pivot from internal security to territorial defense operations; highlighted the key accomplishments of PA units; and disseminated updates, plans and programs of the HPA's General Staff.
“As we move from internal security to territorial defense and fulfill our mission of completely eliminating all security threats, we will continue to transform the Army. With our support for the AFP Campaign Plan ‘TATAG KAPULUAN’, we intend to set forth every effort to modernize the Army’s capabilities and equipment while making sure that our personnel is prepared and has improved skills to ensure our ability to secure the country” the Army Chief remarked.
Lt. Gen. Galido also reiterated his command thrusts encapsulated in the acronym “ARMY”: Soldiers to Always pray to seek divine guidance in their daily activities; Soldiers should strive on being Reliable, Responsive, and Relevant to address the needs of the nation; and every resource, effort, and sacrifice must be Mission-oriented to strengthen the troops’ Morale which is paramount in the command - all these essential qualities of the soldiers to Yield personal interests and comforts for unity, the Army, the AFP, and the nation.
“As we begin this new year, let us do so with renewed zeal and continue to make meaningful contributions for the betterment of our organization,” the Army Chief concluded.
