CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—Moro groups slammed the government’s plan to build a second military camp in Marawi City, saying money intended for this purpose should instead go to the needs of people displaced by the five-month war with terrorists.

Army Support Group has a new commander

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila –The Philippine Army has installed a new camp commander for the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group

during a Change of Command Ceremony held here on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
 Brigadier General Roy T. Devesa is the new designated commander of the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, Philippine Army. He replaced Colonel Kiram-Azgar A. Grajo who temporarily acted after the retirement of the recent post commander, Brigadier General Rodel Mauro R. Alarcon on January 24, 2017.

NDFP strongly condemns illegal arrest of NDFP consultant Rafael Baylosis and companion

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines condemns in the strongest terms the illegal arrest and detention of NDFP Consultant Rafael Baylosis. 

Rafael Baylosis was arrested yesterday by the CIDG-NCR in Katipunan Road, Quezon City. He is a Member of the NDFP Reciprocal Working Group on Political and Constitutional Reforms. He and his companion, Jun, are now illegally detained at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

“Bangsamoro Govt will provide people more access to funds, taxes, etc:” Zubiri

During their visit to Camp Darapanan, the Administrative Headquarters of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) prior to the start of the 3rd Joint Public Hearing on Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) in Cotabato City on January 25, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri said that the creation of Bangsamoro government will provide the people more access to funds, taxes, and natural resources.

In his report on January 26 on GMA’s "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho”, Chino Gascon quoted Zubiri saying that the Senate's version of the BBL would provide the region with more funds and control over their natural resources, and taxes.
