Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao– The Army’s 602nd Infantry Brigade (602nd IBde), the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and Government Peace Implementing Panel jointly conducted Tuesday an information drive inside the former Moro Islamic Liberation Front’s Camp Rajah Muda in Pikit, North Cotabato, said a report posted today on PNA’s official website.

PRRD lauded for AFP modernization, doubling of troops pay

MANILA --- For Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, President Rodrigo R. Duterte's continuous support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) modernization program and doubling of the salaries of all military personnel are his most significant achievements as far as the security sector is concerned.

Lorenzana said military personnel can focus on their job better as they know they can adequately support their families with their salaries and do their mandated duty with the new equipment acquired.

Explosives and Ordnance Units respond to abandoned motorcycle at Army Headquarters

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - At around 12pm today, an abandoned red motorcycle was parked at the gate of the Philippine Army Wellness Center along Lawton Avenue and Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

As part of precautionary measures, soldiers from the Military Police Battalion immediately cordoned the area while military working dogs of the K9 Battalion were deployed to determine if there were explosives attached to the said motorcycle. In compliance with the protocol, the explosives and ordnance units of the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army conducted water disruption on the motorcycle as soon as the bomb-sniffing dogs indicated that traces of explosives could be present. There was no explosion as a result of the water disruption.

On the issue of the West Philippine Sea as it involves the Philppines, China and US

In focusing on the issue of the West Philippine Sea and looking at the involvements of the Philippines, China and US, we must understand the following points:

1. China is in gross violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and in contempt of the 2016 judgment of the Permanent Arbitration Court in favor of the Philippines by continuing to pursue the unlawful claim of ownership over 90 percent of the South China Sea; encroaching on 100 percent of the extended continental shelf and at least 80 percent of the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the Philippines; and building and militarizing artificial islands within the Philippine EEZ.
