Bangsamoro Relief Operation Group distributes relief goods to Maguindanao evacuees

The Bangsamoro Relief Operation Group based in Marawi City distributed relief goods last February 16 to evacuees in a remote village in Datu Piang, Maguindanao affected by the recent armed clashes between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).

The skirmishes affected the towns of Sultan Sa Barongis, Datu Piang, Mamasapano, Rajah Buayan, and Datu Abdullah Sangki, all in Maguindanao. Some families from the towns of Midsayap and Pikit in North Cotabato have also left their homes, according to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s Humanitarian Emergency Action Response Team.

Agakhan M.Sharief , lead convener of the relief operations told the evacuees that  "Bangsamoro is like  one body, If one part is hurt, the whole body feels it."

The group travelled all the way from Marawi City to Datu Piang, Maguindanao. They boarded a motorized boat just to reach their destination.

Among the group who participated in the relief operations were Ridjaluudeen; Khadijah Mohammad Islamic Academy (KMIA); Philippine Muslim Teachers College (PMTC), Free the Bangsamoro Movement (FBM) and MinRHac.

Philippines National Police raids MILF positions in Sarangani


Members of Philippine National Police belonging to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Special Action Force (SAF) raided positions of MILF-BIAF 105th Base Command at Barangay Lagundi, Kiamba, and Barangay Daliao, Maasim, both in Sarangani Province on February 18, 2014 which started around 3:00 in the morning that resulted to a brief skirmishes. 


The raiders were searching for alleged illegal drugs in the MILF controlled areas and were serving a search warrant.

Two MILF members from Barangay Lagundi, and a Moro civilian from Barangay Daliao were brought to Camp Fermin Lera, General Santos City for questioning. There were no confirmed reports of casualties from both sides.

The raids at the said areas were clear violations of the GPH-MILF ceasefire agreement.
