PH Army delivers ADB food packs to 5,000 families in Caloocan

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army has delivered Family Food Packs (FFP) to 5,000 families of Barangay 187, Tala, Zone 16, District 1, North Caloocan City yesterday, April 14, 2020.

Through the 250 Million food donation of the Asian Development Bank and in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and other Local Government Units, the Army was tasked to repack the 250 million worth of relief goods and distribute it among the neediest families in the National Capital Region.

The FFP will assist the beneficiaries with food supplies during the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine. Each pack, which contains 10 kilograms of rice, 35 pieces of assorted canned goods and 20 sachets of milk and coffee; is good for 7 to 10 days.

“The Philippine Army is working 24/7 to better deliver our services to help the Filipinos in need during this health emergency. Together with ADB and other partners through this bayanihan effort, we want to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 especially to vulnerable communities in the NCR,” said Army Spokesperson Col. Ramon P. Zagala.#
