CSAFP dons new rank to newly promoted general
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – General Romeo Brawner Jr., the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, donned new rank to LtGen Facundo Palafox IV, Commander, Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM), in a ceremony on May 15, 2024, here.
LtGen Palafox is a proud member of PMA Bigkis-Lahi Class of 1990 and has been assigned to various key units of the Philippine Army and the AFP.
He comes from his stint as commander of the Philippine Army's Armor Division before taking over as SOLCOM Commander. He also served as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, G7 at the Headquarters, Philippine Army (PA); commander of the Civil-Military Operations Regiment, PA; and commander of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry (Magbalantay) Brigade.
Notable in his achievements is his attendance to the Combating Terrorism Fellowship Program at Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, California in May 2016. He is also a recipient of Distinguished Service Stars, Military Meritorious Medals, and the University of the Philippines' Centennial Award for Public Safety and Administration.
In his message, General Brawner Jr. urged LtGen Palafox to continue a remarkable dedication and exceptional management skills in providing high standards of excellence and professionalism in service.
"This rank is a call to action, to continue leading with honor and to uphold the cornerstone of our institution. Your leadership will shape the future, not just through the decision you make, but through the example you set," said General Brawner.
